Barons, AB

Another one of the beautiful cards I got while living in Berlin, also by the same artist. Here is an English translation of the poem on the front of the card.

The cancel came out so well :D Too bad my stamp STILL got pen cancelled regardless T_T

Mail from Timbuktu?!

Djinguereber Mosque, Timbuktu.

I'm sure a number of people in the English speaking world have heard a phrase or two when describing a long and rigorous journey, ie: from here to Timbuktu and so forth. Here's a little bit of history about the usage of Timbuktu as a metaphor.

But before anything else, yes Timbuktu is a real place, and yes you can get a postcard from there too! So how did I get mine? I had stumbled upon this project called "Postcards from Timbuktu." What I liked about it was the fact that (hopefully,) this was providing work for some of the locals and contributes to their economy somewhat.

About this card, this shows one of the three great mosques in Timbuktu. The town itself is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

The back of this cool card, it was hard to see but it looks like the card was postmarked Sept 19th. Not bad for a month considering how it travels around Mali, then to France, and presumably to Canada next.

I also went to the trouble to convert the cost of postage, surprisingly sending a postcard in Mali is the same as sending one in Canada. Definitely not a cheap hobby at all there either!

A very cool card from my friend in Japan showing the Tezuka All Stars. Love it!

The postmark is also cool! If only I could understand what the theme could be about

What a cool art card! The heart looks really large though, but still a good depiction of the circulatory system.

A very cute card from one of the FB games, this card was also created by a Canadian postcrosser. I should really link to their online shops, since some of these cards are just amazing! This card can be purchased here.

Newfound Gap atop the Great Smoky Mountains

Some interesting cards from the "NA Taking out the Trash x4 tag," unfortunately I can't use a good number of them but oh well.

Montreal meet up!

How nice to receive a card again from the annual Montreal meet up :D I do like this one, nice and clean cut

Great to see this cancel is still valid!

Some more nice ones to add to the collection! Mittenwald is located in Bavaria and not far from the Alps, it's a fairly small town of around 7500 people.

Received: 17.10.2016

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is also located in Bavaria just west of Mittenwald. The city is fairly close to Zugspitze and hosted the 1936 Winter Olympics.

Another new city sign card, how awesome! Lüneburg is located 50 km away from Hamburg in Lower Saxony. The city is a Hanseatic city and university town.

What a beautiful view, and that is quite the aqueduct! I would love to see that in person since it's rather impressive (then again considering when it was built is impressive in and of itself)

I have seen this stamp before but not in this form, interesting

Some forgotten cards :(

I'm usually fairly organized (well organized is a pretty big word in this case lol) with my cards but somehow two managed to get away. Oddly enough they were hidden in plain sight (right on the stairs for weeks...) I'm not really sure when these were received all I know is that both cards were written on Sept 19th.

This is a thank you card for an official I sent :)

A nice collection of stamps :D

Aladdin, 1992
Background by Thomas Cardone

The 2nd card that got misplaced, from a FB game. I have to admit I don't remember this scene in Aladdin, but it was awhile ago since I last watched it :P

Apparently the cancel on here was so poorly done it was still pen cancelled... I like this pencil crayon colour too, so why CP, why?! Anyways it looks like this cancel isn't listed on the site, some further investigation will be needed

From another fun FB game; this is extremely sound advice for this month, never know what is lurking in the shadows! I also do like the skull wearing the crown too

I'm not really sure what I was thinking when I was editing this, at the time this made more sense but it seems now tilting the image works better... anyways it's still a nice card. Considering I'm posting this at 3 am, the music is rather appropriate, it's Brahms' lullaby (or as the top youtube comment says: every cartoon sleep scene ever XD). If it's rather late where you are and reading this, enjoy: Brahms' lullaby

I need to know the theme behind that pixel stamp there lol

Talk about thinking outside of the box; it sure is a city sign with all the classic signs (ha puns!) of a tourist card with a sense of humour (or lack of).
The white text says: Trendy 2016: Staycation... The destination is the journey...
And the text with the coat of arms: On the East Sea Coast
Lastly the sign itself, it's formatted like the other signs for smaller towns. Top: Vacation, Location: Beach, Area: East Sea Coast. (The now leaving part) Bottom: Home, Location: Sofa, Area: Living room

My second stamp related card this week, these collages are really cool. Would love to know what the themes of these stamps are though

I can't really recall the last time I received a card with a country's currency on it, but it certainly is a welcome sight. Ukrainian money (called "hryvnia"[ˈɦrɪu̯ɲɑ]) is rather colourful isn't it?

A real colourful array of stamps we got here; since the sender's image was nicer than mine, I used theirs instead. Their image is also much cleaner since mine was covered in cancellation marks, I guess it wasn't clear that the stamps were used. Oh well, still a very nice homemade card :)

What a weird but cool card, the sender got it right sending this one my way! I think it's an ad card for a pair of artists but I'm not sure. These are some of the cool free cards you can find randomly in Germany, I certainly miss that.

What a cute duck! My friend mentioned tried to explain what the front said, it certainly describes the beauty of the duck plus adding a term of endearment. I understand what he meant but I'm having a hard time choosing a proper English translation as well. It's positive regardless :P

A cool info related card about China, I've seen other countries too. I wonder if they have one for Canada

And an extra ;)

Another Meet up Card

Another lovely mini meet up card from the UK, looks like a lot of Canadian PCers from the FB group are travelling to London lately (to meet the other one who is living there atm.) Still very nice of them to send me one :)

Silly Canada Post, those aren't Canadian stamps :P
